Introducing Chervan, a great new way to find that perfect upholstered piece. You pick your frame (chair, ottoman, sofa, bench, etc.) and you pick the fabric. Drop it off or ship directly to your local upholsterer and in about 8 weeks (depending on your upholsterer), voila, your custom piece is complete and ready for delivery to your customer. Here is a little background on this great company, with a deep history:
Frank Chervan, Inc. was started in 1932 by a dedicated artist, designer, and craftsman, Frank Chervan. The company that continues to bear his name today is one of the largest independent manufacturers of quality hardwood furniture frames in the country. From the company's inception, Frank Chervan focused on designing and building the best possible wood frames. To this day, the company continues with this focused pursuit. We believe that our singular focus is what enables us to produce quality frames, classic designs and excellent service.
And to top that off, they have a new program, called the Bedford Collection. You can choose the exact style AND WIDTH of your sofa. Imagine the perfect size sofa, in the perfect shape with the perfect fabric; custom, the way it was meant to be.
Recently I was invited to tour the Fabricut headquarters in Tulsa, OK (home to the Fabricut, Trend, S.Harris, Vervain and Stroheim lines of fabric, trim, hardware and wallcoverings). Last week I made the trip down to beautiful Oklahoma (seriously, this state IS gorgeous) where I toured their fantastic facility. After donning comfortable shoes, I was lead around and introduced to many of the hard-working and smiling employees throughout their 7 (yes, I said SEVEN) state-of-the-art buildings. I will take you on my tour......
Fabricut has miles and miles of bolts throughout their two full buildings that house drapery fabric and upholstery. Each is two stories and at LEAST 10 aisles on each floor. That is close to 40 aisles of fabric people (doesn't make me feel too bad about the few endless bolts I have laying around).
Remember, My Designer Concierge members receive 10% off Fabricut and Trend fabric, trim and hardware. You can place your fabric and trim orders directly on their website through our account www.Fabricut.com or email us with your hardware order and we will take care of it for you.
I love these new samples I received from stikwood. I can't seem to decide which project to tackle first though. Would you like a sample of your own for a potential project? I can hook you up! . Email us at Jill@MyDesignerConcierge.com for more information.
Stikwood is the world’s first Peel & Stik reclaimed and sustainable wood planking. Founded in 2012 by Jerry and Laura McCall, the company is the product of a deeply held belief that design can be both beautiful and resourceful.
As an innovator in the woodworking industry and a master woodworker himself, Jerry has long understood the pivotal role technology plays in reducing waste and protecting our natural environment. Jerry’s deep appreciation of wood’s distinct ability to transform décor naturally led him to utilizing wood planking which traditionally has been a labor-intensive and costly endeavor. Armed with 30 years experience and an ever-present willingness to try new things, Jerry developed the innovative product now known as Stikwood.
Stikwood products include Peel and Stik wood planking and wall art ideal for the commercial and residential design markets. Made from reclaimed and sustainable woods sourced from various locations in the U.S., Stikwood products boast the natural beauty that only time and the forces of nature can provide. With its remarkably simple Peel and Stik installation process, Stikwood brings the look of wood planking within reach as a fast and cost-effective interior design solution.
