    Dear Romo customer,

    At Romo we believe communication is key in building strong and lasting client relationships, particularly when external circumstances affect our operations.

    As many of you are aware, the recent introduction of tariffs on all foreign products entering the U.S. has raised some concerns about pricing. We want to share how Romo is addressing this development and what it means for you.

    To clarify, all imports into the US have been subject to a minimum 10% tariff surcharge since April 5, 2025. Tariffs are determined by the country of origin of an individual product, not by our status as a British company. The vast majority of our products originate from mainland Europe, earmarked for a 20% tariff surcharge initially, but currently paused for 90 days.  

    Given the volatile nature of these tariff policies, we have chosen not to adjust any pricing at this time. Instead, we will introduce a single 5% “Tariff Surcharge” line item on the product value, similar to how we handle a charge for freight. This approach allows us to remain flexible and adjust or remove the surcharge as policies evolve.

    In anticipation of this volatility, we are developing a three-tiered tariff structure that may be implemented in future, if required.

    • Tier one – Base Tariff Surcharge: 5% tariff surcharge to our clients on all products from countries subject to a tariff surcharge of less than 15% to Romo.
       
    • Tier two – Mid Tariff Surcharge:  10% tariff surcharge to our clients on all products from countries facing a 16% to 50% tariff surcharge to Romo.
       
    • Tier three – High Tariff Surcharge: 25% tariff surcharge to our clients on all products with a tariff surcharge exceeding 50% to Romo.
       

    Our initial tariff surcharge of 5% will go into effect on Monday, April 28. All existing orders, reserves and CFA’s placed prior to April 28, will be honored without adding a tariff surcharge for a period of 30 days. We believe this is a fair approach and hope this will allow you sufficient time to prepare and share this update with your clients.

    Dear Residential Customer:

    As you are well aware, the United States is modifying tariff policies that will affect all imported products that are in our merchandise offerings, across all our brands. 

    Every day brings a new headline of an intended tariff increase, or a potential negotiated settlement. Generally, a level of mayhem has ensued in what we felt was a very orderly marketplace. The endgame is anyone's guess. 

    At Fabricut, we want to continue to be your desired source for home furnishings products that you can count on for design excellence and stability in price, service and delivery. In this environment, pricing stability becomes very challenging. 

    Therefore, Fabricut has taken a position of waiting a few more weeks before determining our policy on how these tariffs will affect our pricing models. We want to make certain that we create a fair and shared reality between our vendors, ourselves, and our customer community. 

    On all orders either in house or received by April 30th, there will be no tariff surcharge. We will communicate to you in the first week of May what our decisions will be going forward.

    As part of our commitment to proactive and transparent communication, we are providing an update on recent developments related to North American tariffs.
     

    In response to the recent tariff announcement, we will be implementing temporary surcharges as follows: 
     

    • 12% on Natural Shades Product Line 

    • 12% on Shades of Elegance™ Roller Shades Product Line 

    • 12% on Decorative Hardware Product Line 

    • 8% on Soft Product Line using our Stock Fabrics 

    • 4% on Soft Product Line using COM
     

    These surcharges will be added to product costs and will take effect on new orders placed beginning Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025. 
     

    We understand that price adjustments are never ideal, and we want to assure you that this measure is temporary. Our team is actively monitoring the situation and exploring all avenues to minimize the impact on our customers. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time.

    Dear US Graber Dealers,

    In our ongoing commitment to support our partners with proactive and transparent communication, we would like to provide an update related to the ongoing developments related to North American tariffs.

    Over the past eight weeks, we have continued to work diligently to lessen the impact by:

    • Exploring alternative sourcing and making supply chain adjustments to reduce cost pressures.
    • Evaluating pricing models to ensure we remain competitive while covering necessary costs.
    • Engaging with trade experts and advisors to explore potential exemptions and strategic shifts.
    • Working with key suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.

    While we have absorbed a portion of the increased costs, the impact is substantial, requiring us to implement temporary pricing adjustments to help mitigate the headwinds.

    As a result of the currently enacted tariffs, Graber will be implementing a surcharge of 12% on all products, except soft (8%) and composite shutters (0%). These surcharges will be effective on all orders entered beginning Tuesday, 4/22. These surcharges will be displayed by line item on invoices.

    We are committed to ongoing efforts to lessen the burden of tariffs. Our teams are:
    • Continuing to optimize sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution strategies.
    • Exploring further efficiencies and cost-reduction opportunities with suppliers.
    • Working with industry experts to stay informed on potential policy changes and exemptions.

    several revised Price Guide dates which reflect enhancements and specification changes to the Programs with no changes to pricing.

    As previously announced, Alta has begun a Temporary Surcharge to address the current unique market conditions. On April 22nd this surcharge will increase from 1% to 2% of Retail on all orders. Again, this is a Temporary Surcharge which will be adjusted or eliminated as market conditions dictate.

    On May 13th Alta will implement an average 3% price increase on Aluminum Blinds, Faux Wood and Wood Blinds, SoftStyle Cellular, Roller Shades and Sheer Shadings.

    All Motorized Systems (except PowerWand will have updated price grids.
    Windows smaller that 30 x 60 will see a 10% decrease. Windows larger than
    60 x 72 will see a 20% increase and windows between 30 x 60 and 60 x 72 will Remain the same. (The majority of shades you sell will have the same or 10% Lower surcharges.) Motorization Accessories will not change.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

     

    While we are busy preparing for the High Point market, I wanted to update you on where we stand relative to tariffs and the expected inflation in our industry.  The fluid situation feels a bit like Covid 2.0 unfortunately, in that we expect some turbulence and uncertainty ahead in our industry. 

     

    Please know that we are well prepared for the challenges.  We are as well-grounded and financially sound as any company in the industry.  In addition, our inventory position is solid in all three distribution centers – VA, TX, CA.  Our supply chain is also very diverse in that we manufacture our products in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, India, Malaysia, Cambodia, Portugal, and here in the US.  We will start working in Mexico again like we did in the past, and continue to bring production back to the US where we can be competitive.  

     

    We are hoping the tariff situation is resolved quickly, but we’re operating under the assumption that it won’t be.  The new baseline tariff of 10% applies to all imported products and components, plus we have the global steel and aluminum tariff of 25%.  For China, we have total tariffs of 145%, making production out of China mostly not affordable.  Even on domestic production, some components like swivels, brass knobs, and fabrics are sometimes manufactured in China, and subject to the 145% tariff.

     

    Given all of these tariff increases, we will have a price increase in May.  We also expect our fill rate to drop off by summer, from our current 91% rate.  Please know that we are doing all we can to avoid out-of-stocks, but we cannot proceed with business as usual on 145% tariff items. 

     

    We are very excited to debut Uttermost Outdoor at this upcoming High Point market.  This collection is manufactured almost 100% in Indonesia, Vietnam, India, and the US.  There are just a few small pieces made in China. 

    The weeks and months ahead will be challenging for all, but please know that we are totally focused on supporting your business with great product, and keeping our values as strong as possible.

    Important Pricing Updates for Hunter Douglas & Alta

    We value your ongoing partnership and would like to inform you about upcoming pricing updates for Hunter Douglas and Alta. As part of our annual cost review and in line with new product launches under the Hunter Douglas brand, we are implementing changes to our pricing structure, effective May 13. This pricing adjustment is separate from the temporary surcharge, which will continue until the commodities markets stabilize. 

    Hunter Douglas Pricing Updates

    Blinds & Shades: 

    • Price grid adjustments will reflect an average increase of 3% across all products.

    Shutters: 

    • Shutter price grids and product options will reflect an average increase of 3% across the following products: NewStyle®, Heritance®, and Palm Beach® Shutters

    To streamline your pricing experience, we encourage you to use our digital tools: 

    • DirectConnect® (DC) and the Mobile Selling App (MSA) will always have the latest pricing updates. 

    • The Price and Reference Guide provides pricing in 12" increments. 

    • Utilize the Price Comparison Tool in DC and Price Explorer in MSA to generate quick and accurate pricing without entering every product option. 

    Alta Pricing Updates

    Blinds & Shades: 

    • Price grids and product options will reflect an average increase of 3% across the following products: Aluminum, Faux Wood and Wood Blinds; Honeycomb Shades, SoftStyle Cellular Shades, Roller Shades and Sheer Shadings. 

    Shutters: 

    • Shutter square foot pricing and product options will reflect an average increase of 3%. 
    Motorization Pricing Adjustments: To provide a more balanced approach to motorization pricing: 
    • All motorized operating system surcharges (excluding PowerWand™) will have updated price grids. 
    • To make motorization more accessible for smaller windows, we’re adjusting our surcharge structure: windows smaller than 30”x60” will see a (-10%) decrease, windows larger than 60”x72” will see a (+20%) increase, and windows between 30”x60” and 60”x72” will remain the same, meaning the majority of the windows you sell will have the same or a (-10%) lower surcharge on Motor Options. 
    • Motorization Accessories will not incur an increase.

    To Our Customers:

    The current environment regarding tariffs is a fluid one that we are monitoring closely. On April 10th, the Administration put a temporary 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for most countries with the exception of China.  The net effect of this action is a tariff increase of 10%. 

    Beginning on June 1st,  all orders will have a flat rate surcharge of 4.8%. Our goal is to keep our pricing as stable as possible. To minimize the impact on your business, we will absorb a portion of these tariffs. Your business is important to us, and we will continue to deliver the quality, experience, and products that you trust. 

    Any orders shipped prior to June 1st will not carry a surcharge. We know that the situation can change quickly, and we will react accordingly to any changes in a thoughtful manner.
